Mission:

Our mission is to reduce the prevalence of STDs among American Indians and Alaska Natives in the Pacific Northwest by uniting to share wisdom, data, and resources, identify and address common priorities, and develop strategies to eliminate STD-related disparities.

Goals:

To reduce the prevalence of STDs among American Indians in the Pacific Northwest, three priority objectives have been identified:
1. Improve STD testing, screening, and treatment services among NW tribal clinics.
2. Strengthen the capacity of tribal health educators, program managers, and clinicians to provide STD prevention services to the NW tribes.
3. Increase community awareness about Sexually Transmitted Diseases.

Strategies:

1. Project Red Talon provides STD training and program technical assistance to tribal medical providers, health professionals, and community health advocates.
2. Project Red Talon facilitates the implementation of STD prevention interventions and disseminates community outreach materials to NW tribes.
3. Project Red Talon supports activities that increase tribal knowledge about effective STD prevention, screening, and treatment strategies.

Tribes Served:

Project Red Talon serves the 43 federally recognized tribes in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.
